Surrounded by old and characteristic buildings of Bowery in New York, Sperone Westwater join into this environment and create a new architecture in the landscape. A building of clean lines, neutral color it abuses of innovation in the interior, creating a mobile exhibition space, which connects several floors of the gallery. This kind of red elevator who looks outside, promises to create a new symbol of this district and hope inspire artists to new possibilities that can explore on the gallery.
"The concept for Sperone Westwater represents both a response to the Bowery’s dynamic urban character and a desire to rethink the way in which we engage with art in the setting of a gallery. The moving gallery animates the exterior of the building and creates a bold vertical element within." - Sir Norman Foster
