After working on Paul Rudolph and Arquitectonica offices in New York, he opened the office Shinichi Ogawa & Associates in 1986. From this, he began to highlight his work with important achievements, such as contribution to the 19th International Exposition Triennale of Milan, for the Pavilion of Japan, and the UIA Barcelona 96. The highlight of his work is its simplicity, beautifully detailed, making it a very expressive minimalist architecture. His portfolio consists of residential architecture, exploiting the concepts of minimalism in all aspects of the project, practicing a different architecture from the rest.
